Old Dominion will be playing its first season of football in 2009; I have received information from ODU indicating that the helmet design shown above has been chosen for use by the team.

Savannah State had a new helmet design in 2008 (shown above). Iona, a Football Championship Subdivision independent team in 2008, has discontinued its football program; the helmet images for this team have been moved to the page for defunct college teams . Marist, an independent team in 2008, has joined the Pioneer Football League for 2009.

2005 -

During the mid-1990s, NCCU was using silver helmets with maroon faceguards and the team name "Eagles" on the sides of the helmets, in cursive, maroon letters.

In 2002, NCCU was using a silver and/or white "flying eagle" decal, as shown in the photograph below. I would appreciate a copy of this logo so that I may add this helmet to the web site.
