Reflected on this page and on the page for af2's National Conference is the new divisional alignment announced for the 2008 season. There will be two new teams: Daytona Beach Thunderbirds and Lexington Horsemen (both of which previously played in other minor leagues); two "resurrected" old teams: Iowa Barnstormers (which last participated in af2 in 2001) and Peoria Pirates (2004), and one team, Austin Wranglers, transferred from the Arena Football League. The following arenafootball2 teams which played in 2007 will not return in 2008: Alabama Steeldogs, Fort Wayne Fusion, Cincinnati Jungle Kats, Everett Hawks, Bakersfield Blitz, and Laredo Lobos.

Other new helmet designs may have been adopted in 2007 - I again received very little information for this league.

During at least one game in 2007 (July 26 vs the Fort Wayne Fusion), the Steamwheelers used a different helmet design - the helmet shells were red and featured a differently-colored version of the same helmet logo which the team has used since its inception. Unfortunately I have lost the copy of the helmet logo which I once had, and used to draw the gold-shelled helmet; if the person who sent me that copy many years ago could please re-send it, I would greatly appreciate it.
